Kim Kwang Jin Talk: Former Financier of Kim Jong Il’s Royal Court Economy Tells His Story
October 31, 2012
NKHR Speaker Series Event Invitation
Kim Kwang Jin helped earn millions of dollars for what he calls North Korea’s “Royal Court Economy,” i.e., the enterprises and often illegal schemes that financially supported Kim Jong Il. Since defecting to South Korea with his family in 2003, Mr. Kim was a visiting scholar in the US with the Committee for Human Rights in North Korea, has earned two masters degrees, and is working on a PhD. He currently works as a senior researcher at the Institute of National Security Strategy, is an advisor to the Ministry of Unification, and serves on various boards. He majored in English literature at Kim Il Sung University and taught English at Pyongyang Computer College.
This event will be in English and is free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis.
