Kimjongilia Open in South Korean Theaters; Q&A with the Director

June 24, 2011

Kimjongilia, a must-see documentary in which many North Koreans defectors tell their stories, opened last night in several theaters across South Korea. The American director, N.C. Heikin, and a Korean movie critic will have a discussion following the 7pm showing on Tuesday, June 28th, at the CGV theater in Daehangno, Seoul (near Hyehwa Station on line 4). The director did a similar Q&A session with the audience after a showing on opening night, June 23rd.

The following link has info on when & where the movie is playing (Korean): http://blog.naver.com/kimjongilia. Check back there for updates — so far they have only posted the schedule for the next few days. Otherwise, check Naver or any other movie listing resource.

Even if you don’t speak Korean, encourage your friends to go see this powerful movie. Knowing how these things work, it may not be in theaters long, so don’t delay!
